As a Data Governance Principal, you will have a critical role in maintaining effective data governance practices across our organization, including multiple business units and applications like SAP, Blue Yonder, One Stream, and others. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring the quality, integrity, and consistency of data within our digital landscape.
Execute Data Governance: Execute and maintain a robust data governance framework to ensure the quality, integrity, and consistency of data across the organization. Collaborate with key stakeholders and business owners to define and catalog data products, KPIs and CDEs, to execute governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Data Stewardship Program: Initiate and execute the Data Stewardship Program, working closely with business stakeholders to support data stewards in defining and cataloging key data products and their associated KPIs and CDEs. Provide support to data stewards in managing data quality, data definitions, and resolving data-related issues.
- Centralize Master Data Management: Drive the implementation of a centralized master data management solution to enhance data consistency, accuracy, and accessibility. Collaborate with IT teams to implement and support appropriate tools and systems for master data management. Execute principles, policies, standards, and guidelines for data management.
- Data Governance Tools and Technologies: Implement and support data governance tools and technologies that support data management, data quality monitoring, and data lineage. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and BOBJ is desired.
- Data Governance Training and Awareness: Deliver and support training programs and workshops to educate employees on data governance principles, processes, and best practices. Raise awareness about the importance of data governance and foster a data-driven culture across the organization.
- Data Governance Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. Collaborate with business and IT teams to enforce and maintain data governance controls and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience delivering complex data governance solutions (governance, management, quality, analytics, etc.).
- Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, practices, and industry standards.
- Experience executing the central office data governance processes and procedures to be able to federate across multiple business units with modern environments, Big Data and traditional DW environments supporting Data Governance and master data management principles and techniques.
- Experience with Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) tools for cataloging, DQ, and MDM (Alation experience a plus).
- Experience with metadata, glossary, data lineage, data quality, reference data, master data, data modeling, and data analytics.
- Familiarity with consumer packaging industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
- Strong execution and project management skills to drive data governance initiatives.
