Overview
Our client is seeking a highly analytical Fintech Data Analyst to serve as a critical bridge between the Accounting and IT / Data Engineering (EDW) teams. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in accounting and financial processes who also possesses a data-driven mindset and technical fluency with reporting tools and data flows.
The selected consultant will help translate financial data requirements into actionable insights, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of information across enterprise systems and reporting platforms.
Responsibilities
- Act as the liaison between the Accounting and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) teams to ensure alignment between business and technical requirements.
- Map and analyze financial data flows from source systems through the EDW into reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, and future systems such as Pigment or OneStream).
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close reporting processes through data validation and automation.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models, dashboards, and reports to support management decision-making.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data across systems and reporting layers.
- Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to improve data governance, controls, and reconciliation processes.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to enhance automation and scalability of financial reporting solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting processes, journal entries, and financial controls.
- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, modeling, data visualization).
- Proficiency with Power BI for dashboard creation, data modeling, and reporting automation.
- Experience analyzing and validating data flows across multiple systems and sources.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and analytics concepts (P&L, balance sheet, budgeting/forecasting).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across Finance and IT stakeholders.
- Experience with enterprise reporting tools such as Pigment or OneStream.
- Familiarity with data engineering or ELT/ETL tools, particularly Microsoft Fabric or similar data integration platforms.
- Previous experience supporting or implementing financial data warehouses or analytics environments.
