Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Terraform Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, development, and implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. The ideal candidate will develop reusable modules, define state management strategies, and automate infrastructure provisioning to support scalable, secure, and efficient cloud environments. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Terraform modules to provision and manage reusable infrastructure components across multiple environments and projects. Define and implement Terraform state management strategies using remote backends, state locking, and workspaces to ensure consistency and track changes effectively. Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, updates, and decommissioning using Terraform workflows integrated with CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate with cloud architects, DevOps engineers, and security teams to enforce best practices for infrastructure automation, compliance, and security. Optimize infrastructure code for performance, modularity, and maintainability across hybrid or multi-cloud environments. Review and audit Terraform configurations for alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure automation, Terraform modules, and state conflicts. Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to engineering teams on advanced Terraform concepts and best practices. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience. 4+ years of hands-on experience with Terraform in production cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and practices. Experience with Terraform state management, including remote backends (e.g., S3 with DynamoDB, GCS, Azure Storage). Proficient in CI/CD pipeline integration and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python). Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure components such as networking, IAM, compute, and storage. Familiar with Git workflows, Terraform Registry, and module versioning. HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate or equivalent certification. Experience with policy-as-code tools (e.g., Sentinel, OPA) for Terraform governance. Knowledge of DevOps practices, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet). Prior experience in a regulated environment (e.g., government, healthcare, finance).
