Cloud Engineer.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will play a key role in optimizing cloud performance and cost, while ensuring compliance with organizational security and data protection standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure and applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support development, testing, and production environments.
  • Implement and manage scalable, highly available, and secure cloud environments using services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Cloud Functions.
  • Monitor cloud resources to ensure optimal performance, availability, and cost efficiency, utilizing tools like Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Cost Management dashboards.
  • Work closely with DevOps and development teams to automate infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and data protection policies, including access control, encryption, identity management, and audit logging.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, apply updates and patches, and proactively manage incidents and outages.
  • Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
  • Proficiency in cloud architecture, containerization (Docker, GKE), networking, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud monitoring, logging, and cost optimization tools within GCP.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent certification.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (GKE), serverless technologies (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run), and microservices architecture.
  • Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, GitOps, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments is a plus.
