ob Summary:

The technical project manager will manage the discovery, development, delivery and maintenance of a smaller-sized IT projects for Ford of Canada dealer website platforms. This role will be responsible for solving technical and data-related issues and will work closely with technical architects and development staff to drive the technical direction. The technical project manager will gather, understand and execute requests of the business partners in close partnership.

 

Additionally, this role will execute the technology roadmap, resolve escalated issues, execute compliance functions, maintain a clear communication channel and manage change.

 

There is no predetermined end date of this role.

 

Role will be remote (must provide own broadband internet connection) until at least 7 Sept 2021 and likely until 15 October 2021 at which point it will transition to a hybrid model (details TBD).

 

Essential Job Functions:

* General understanding of JavaScript, website development, and web servers
* Ticket management (Jira is used)
* Collaborate with business and technology platform owners for technology evaluation, design, and implementation of assigned projects.
* Drive the application of solid engineering practices, working with team members to troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring security and compliance protocols are followed.
* Work with internal teams to translate business requirements into technical specification documentation.
* Define the project scope including goals, deliverables, schedules, and manage scope changes.
* Identify and escalate risks and key issues to management for prompt resolution, propose resolutions and mitigations.
* Measure, monitor and communicate technology performance of applications.
* Work with project managers and QA lead to create the user story estimation and acceptance criteria.
* Manage vendor relationships and vendor roadmaps
* Provide technical insight, implementing technical improvements as needed.

* Abide by the policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct of the company.
* Handle personal information (“PI”) that pertains to any individual (e.g., leads, dealers, employees, job applicants, etc.) in accordance with FordDirect’s Privacy Policy and public facing privacy statements on FordDirect managed websites.
* Complete any required training.
* Promptly report any known or suspected loss, theft or unauthorized disclosure or use of PI to the General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer or Chief Information Officer.
* Adhere to the company’s compliance program.
* Safeguard the company’s intellectual property, information, and assets.
* Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
+Experience+
* Multi-disciplined IT experience (3+ years).
* Team lead role managing IT projects from discovery through delivery (2+ years).
* Strong background in systems engineering.
* Web services knowledge.
* Debugging experience using tools like Charles, Firebug, Chrome Developer, and Postman.
* Automotive or OEM experience is a plus.
* DNS (Domain) knowledge is a plus.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field or relevant experience.
