Job Summary:
The Contractor Security Officer is responsible for representing the organization in all security-related matters, particularly in response to inquiries from the State or other regulatory bodies. This role requires a strong understanding of security principles and practices, and the authority to act on behalf of the Contractor to ensure compliance with all applicable security policies, procedures, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Primary Point of Contact:
Serve as the primary liaison between the Contractor and the State regarding all security inquiries, audits, and compliance reviews.

Security Oversight:
Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of security policies, standards, and practices to assess, respond to, and manage security-related issues effectively.

Authority to Act:
Exercise decision-making authority on behalf of the Contractor in all matters pertaining to security compliance, incident response, and communication with State agencies.

Incident Response and Reporting:
Coordinate and respond promptly to security incidents, ensuring proper documentation and communication with the relevant authorities as required.

Compliance Assurance:
Ensure the Contractor’s adherence to applicable security requirements, including those outlined in contracts, state regulations, and industry best practices.

Demonstrated experience in security management or a related field.

Knowledge of federal and state security standards, including information security and physical security requirements.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with government and internal stakeholders.

Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, and authority in high-stakes security situations.

Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) are a plus.

Prior experience working in a government or regulated environment.
