Description:

Designs and builds relational databases.

This role is expected to go beyond the initial timeline and will be an ongoing role for now.

As a Database Architect / MS SQL Developer with the NJ Department of Human Services – Central Office, the candidate will design and build relational databases for various user interface applications. The candidate must be able to design, develop and manipulate database management systems, data warehouses and multidimensional databases. Requires a depth and breadth of database knowledge that shall help with formal design of relational databases and provides insight into strategic data manipulation. Responsible for making sure an organization''s strategic goals are optimized through the use of enterprise data standards.
You are expected to:
Participate in JAD sessions with the user to determine application functional requirements
Perform database documentation including table relation diagrams and data dictionary updates
Perform database impact analysis
Create/identify data structures to support modules and screens
Create and modify complex stored procedures and provide assistance to the application developers during application integration
Perform advanced data cleanup functions
Perform data conversions from legacy databases
Analyze queries and stored procedures to enhance performance
Perform backup and restore functions
Perform database performance analysis
Required Relevant Work Experience: 6 to 8 yrs.
