ServiceNow Solutions Architect (Remote)

Job Summary

The ServiceNow Architect shall be responsible for supporting multiple business development and delivery activities concurrently.

For Business Development, the SN Architect shall review prospective customer requests (i.e., RFQs, RFPs, RFIs) to develop compelling proposal responses that solution requirements and ultimately lead to awards and successful project delivery results as measured by Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) survey results, referenceable projects, and renewed business.

For Delivery, the SN Architect shall design, develop, deploy, and sustain technical solutions that enable business processes, solution configurations, integrations, data migrations, reports, and dashboards.

The SN Architect leverages their experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities daily. Success may be measured by fulfilling the responsibilities and duties listed below by working synergistically with customers, project team members, and other stakeholders. Stakeholders include project managers and leads, individual contributors, business analysts, technical consultants, client SMEs, security SMEs, and compliance resources.

Successful candidates will demonstrate solid consulting skills, confidence based on technical and functional competence, domain expertise, strong leadership skills, excellent oral/written communication skills, and ability to collaborate across workstreams and stakeholder interests.

Responsibilities and Duties

The SN Architect is responsible for leading the technical effort of a BD activity or consulting engagement. As the Lead Technical consultant, SN Architect is responsible for applying innovative technical solutions to deploy robust architectures to meet current and future business needs and the application processes for new implementation deployments and to sustain existing solutions. This includes:

  • leading technical and architectural workshops,
  • understanding and documenting enterprise architectures,
  • ensuring the project is technically compliant with required policies, procedures, and processes,
  • eliciting, documenting, designing, and deploying technical processes and workflows,
  • demonstrating ServiceNow capabilities,
  • leading and supporting all development and testing activities from unit and integration testing, data migration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT),
  • managing organizational change management activities,
  • supporting the planning, design, development, and delivery of technical training
  • planning and leading technical transition activities including knowledge transfer, testing, training, and transition
  • managing multiple priorities concurrently effectively
  • troubleshooting issues and identify/resolve root causes
  • managing web access and electronic messaging services
  • maintaining a secure systems environment
  • effectively communicating with stakeholders at various levels and across various responsibilities,
  • integrating disparate systems using SOAP and REST APIs
  • creating web services for data integration
  • migrating data between SN and other systems
  • configuring MID Servers
  • migrating update sets and XMLs between environments
  • performing additional duties as assigned and required.

Experience, Skills, and Certifications

  • Work Experience
    • 5+ years of customer facing ServiceNow consulting development experience and 3+ years Solution Architect Role
    • Demonstrated successful hands-on consulting implementation experience architecting, configuring, developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and sustaining the ServiceNow Now Platform with ServiceNow Field Service Management (FSM) application
    • Subject matter expertise with asset management and field service management domain areas and functional specifications
    • Hands-on experience architecting, configuring, developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and sustaining the ServiceNow Now Platform with other applications such as:
      • Platform: CMDB, Knowledge, Workflows, Integrations, Alerts/Notifications, Portal
      • ITSM: Incident Management, Configuration Management, Change Management, Request Management, Problem Management, Service Level Management, Knowledge Management, Release Management
      • ITAM/SAM: Hardware Asset Management, Software Asset Management
  • Certifications
    • ServiceNow System Administrator Certification
  • Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or 4-6 years equivalent work experience
  • Development Experience
    • Proven hands-on development experience with: Business Rules, Access Control Rules, Script Includes, Script Action, UI Actions, UI Scripts, UI Policy, Data Policy, Client Scripts, UI Macros, Jelly, Web Services, Glide Record, Glide AJAX, Workflows, JSON, Encryptions Plugin, Notification, Reporting, Discovery (a plus), Integration, SSO, MID Server, LDAP
    • Extensive knowledge of two or more Front End Technologies: HTML, JSTL, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, XSL, and/or XSLT
    • Development experience with other system environments
  • Soft Skills

Preferred Skills Requirements:

  • ServiceNow Developer Certification
  • ServiceNow Field Service Management Implementation Specialist Certification
  • Hands-on experience architecting, configuring, developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and sustaining the ServiceNow Now Platform with other applications such as:
    • ITOM: Event Management, Discovery, Service Mapping, Orchestration.
  • Experience working as a customer-facing consultant servicing public sector clients
  • Experience with release/version upgrades including scheduling cloning and migration of data from instances with ServiceNow
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in another related field
  • Extensive knowledge of two other front-end technologies: HTML, JSTL, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, XSL, and/or XSLT.
