Job Title: Python Developer with SAS Migration Experience
Location: Remote 
Duration:  Long Term Contract

Max Rate: $40/hr on W2 Only (No C2C)

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Python Developer with strong experience in SAS and proven expertise in migrating legacy SAS codebases to Python. The ideal candidate will play a key role in modernizing data processing and analytics pipelines by converting and optimizing SAS logic into scalable Python solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and understand existing SAS scripts, procedures, and workflows.
  • Translate SAS logic into equivalent and optimized Python code.
  • Develop and maintain robust, efficient, and scalable Python modules for data transformation, analytics, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure migration accuracy and performance.
  • Validate and test migrated components to ensure functional parity with SAS implementations.
  • Optimize Python code for performance and maintainability.
  • Provide documentation and training for teams transitioning to the new Python-based system.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development.
  • Strong experience with SAS programming (Base SAS, SAS Macros, PROC SQL).
  • Proven track record of migrating SAS code to Python in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, and other Python data processing libraries.
  • Good understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with Apache Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS Glue.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
