Job Description :
This GIS resource will provide the business knowledge and technical expertise to implement strategies, evaluate products, and build upon an infrastructure that supports the ever-changing needs of our customers. In addition, the individual will be hands on and lead a team of technical professionals consisting of internal and external partner resources in the development and delivery of robust, secure, and scalable solutions that exceed user needs and improve business performance. The successful candidate will work hand-in-hand with Business Leads, IT Business Partners, and IT Project Managers to roadmap, plan, and deliver on environment build-outs. This role will report to the Manager of Solutions Development within the Utility IT organization.

Key Accountabilities
o Provides technical direction for the design, development, and systems integration from definition phase through implementation
o Ensures system, technical & product architecture is compliant with and adheres to all Utility Company operational, architectural, and design standards and principles
o Understands complex technology concepts and effectively employs different solutions as are appropriate to the engagement
o Owns technology oversight and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout various projects
o Creates and enables technical plans and revises as appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements
o Ensures the timely completion and approvals of project deliverables
o Manages technical resources within budget and project schedules
o Identifies project risks and plans/implement mitigation actions
o Keeps team members well-informed of status and serves as liaison between both vendors and project portfolios
o Possesses demonstrated work experience with multiple vendors and technology portfolios
o Consistently delivers high-quality service to all stakeholders

Qualifications
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or similar field; or equivalent work experience.
o 10+ years of Technology Lead experience with GIS including ESRI and GE SmallWworld software
o Strong technical and functional knowledge of ESRI and GE Smallworld software current and previous releases (4.2 & 4.3)
o Strong hands-on technical knowledge in application development in Magik programming language.
o 10+ years’ experience in a SDLC environment
o Knowledge and experience with Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies
o Electric & Gas utility experience an added plus
