Senior Business Data Analyst/SCRUM

Contract - 6 Months

About this role
Our Client IT PMO is seeking an IT Senior Business Analyst to usher our cross-team Business Analysts in the adoption of org-wide best practice. In this role, through collaboration with tech team members, you will establish process in Agile Product Development and hybrid Project Management lifecycles. A typical work week will average 40% hands on Business Analyst activities, 40% Business Analyst team leadership and process improvement, and 20% project portfolio administrative activity.
We will count on you to identify, verify, and document the functional requirements using Requirements Management methodology and tools. This role will conduct & facilitate acceptance tests for solutions with user community, including, development of UAT test scenario and test scripts. This individual will develop, deliver, and evaluate training & supplemental materials. Analyzing the business domains, building trust with Operations team members and strong communication with stakeholders are key to this role.


In the Senior PMO Business Analyst Team Lead Capacity, you will
• Foster process improvement and champion IT org-wide best practice in both Agile and hybrid Project Management methodologies.
• In your first months, collaborate with IT team members to establish architecture documentation, process documentation and training collateral.
• Ensure easy onboarding of new Business Analysts. When a new team member joins Client IT, it is important to support onboarding through one-on-one knowledge transfer, training, and technical documentation.
• Serve as a primary resource for business processes, system functionality, usage, and best practices through the exercise of establishing a team knowledge base.
• Establish a Business Analyst team forum to support collaboration, knowledge transfer, identification of gaps in deliverables, and updating of artifacts.
• Drive and support continuous improvement through servant style leadership.
• Support the Client IT PMO portfolio management processes and project demand intake flow.
• Establish performance metrics, track, and monitor BA team performance issues and risks.


In the Business Analyst Capacity, you will
• Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements, utilizing various tools such as Wireframes, Design Templates, BRDs, FRDs, process maps, workflow diagrams, data mapping spreadsheets, etc., to ensure clarity and alignment with stakeholders.
• Lead collaborative sessions to translate business strategies and objectives into business requirements while driving standardization across different business solutions.
• Lead requirement activities, structuring product backlogs into epics, features, user stories, and tasks to ensure the delivery of optimal business value.
• Identify requirements, problems, opportunities, and solutions, and then engage throughout the change lifecycle to ensure successful delivery and adoption.


We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these required skills:
• Ability to elicit, articulate and document process modeling, business requirements, description of business context using scenarios and user stories.
• Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Agile Methodology in application, as well as Product Development and the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Demonstrated experience in working on a wide range of technical projects in a Business Analyst role.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate large groups across multiple disciplines.
• 5 to 8 years' experience of analyzing business problems, designing successful solutions, and supporting complex initiatives.
• Demonstrable experience of working and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with rapidly emerging requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:
• Practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
• Proven experience in database hardware, software standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies, integrations, and client-server applications.
• Proven track record of successfully fulfilling the role of a Business Analyst within an insurance industry environment.
• Agile applications and tools such as Azure Dev Ops.
• Must have strong Business Process Analysis, written, presentation and communication skills.
• Stakeholder management and a proven ability to gain consensus and sign off.
