Experience:
AWS DevOps Engineer plays a vital role in architecting, deploying, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem. This position acts as a bridge between development and operations teams, driving the implementation of best practices for automation, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Provision, configure, and manage AWS resources (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, RDS) to ensure high availability, scalability, and security across environments.
- CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools such as AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions to streamline software delivery.
- Automation: Automate deployment, testing, and monitoring processes using scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Monitoring & Observability: Deploy and manage monitoring and alerting solutions (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure optimal system performance, availability, and rapid incident response.
- Security & Compliance: Oversee IAM roles, security groups, and encryption (KMS), ensuring adherence to compliance standards such as GDPR and HIPAA.
- Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Diagnose and resolve system issues using logs and tracing tools (AWS X-Ray, CloudWatch Logs), supporting rapid recovery and root cause analysis.
- Cost Optimization: Utilize AWS Cost Explorer and implement autoscaling strategies to monitor and optimize cloud expenditure.
Technical Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, CloudFormation, S3, etc.).
- Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, GitLab, AWS CodeBuild, and AWS CodeDeploy.
- Skilled in monitoring solutions: AWS CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Proficient in scripting languages: Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
