Position : Java Developer
Location : New York City, NY
Duration : 1+ year
Projects will include building a new RFQ system, creating workflow and orchestration engine, integrating with existing connectivity, enrichment and STP layers.
Responsible for building/enhancing the Fixed Income Credit electronic trading platform.
building out the Equity Derivatives trading and execution platform,
The candidate should have server-side experience. This is not a role for GUI/web developers.
The candidate should have extensive experience with JMS or other messaging protocols.
Experience building real time trading systems is a huge plus.
The candidate should have experience with open source projects such as Spring.
The candidate should have experience with the entire SDLC cycle. Demonstrated use of Design Patterns is a plus.
Candidates must have the ability to interact with all functional roles on the team, contribute solutions and ideas to the problem space and have very good written and oral communication skills.
The candidate should also be a self-starter, highly motivated and a solid team player but capable of working independently.
Required Skills:
This is a role in IT front-office team
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent.
5+ years of Core Java experience
Strong Software development fundamentals, data structures, design patterns, Object-Oriented programming, architecture, algorithms, and problem-solving skills
Strong focus on system performance tuning and experience with low latency Java programming
Solid understanding of service architecture and high performance and multi-threading techniques
Prior experience in building algo trading systems
2+ years working with messaging middleware technologies such as Tibco EMS, JMS
2+ years core Spring
Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) from inception to deployment and user training
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be a self-starter and be able work well in fast paced, dynamic environment.
Highly analytical, proactive and detail oriented
Must be able to work effectively with clients and team members in other locations.
Desired Skills:
Experience developing and supporting order execution or real-time market data systems is a plus.
Experience working in the Investment Banking industry is a plus.
FIX protocol experience a plus
Apache Camel experience a huge plus
Linux experience is a plus
Experience working with source code control systems such as Subversion, CVS or Clearcase.
