Title: Windows Admin/Application Support

need local candidates in the Minneapolis area (currently living there- not willing to relo), onsite work- contract should run 6 months. 

Duration: 6-month contract

 

Please note- I will be seeking candidates that have had significant experience in Application Support roles that can also do Windows Server Admin (not the other way around- need to be skilled in Application Support in a large environment)

 

Windows Server Administration and Application Support Specialist Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Application Support and Windows Administration Specialist. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for providing exceptional application support to our internal stakeholders, ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of our software applications. Additionally, you will assist with Windows administration tasks to maintain the reliability and security of our systems.

Responsibilities:

· Provide end-to-end application support, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and user assistance.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve application related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

· Monitor application performance and proactively identify areas for improvement, making recommendations to enhance efficiency and user experience.

· Coordinate with software vendors and internal teams to deploy application updates, patches, and upgrades.

· Perform required SQL Server database installation, upgrade, configuration, and maintenance tasks.

· Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows servers, ensuring system reliability and security.

· Monitor system health, perform routine maintenance tasks, and troubleshoot Windows related issues.

· Collaborate with IT team members to develop and implement best practices for Windows administration.

· Maintain documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.

· Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in application support and Windows administration.

 

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

· Proven experience in application support and troubleshooting, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.

· Familiarity with incident management, and change management processes.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

· Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

· Detail oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

· Professional certifications in application support or Windows administration (e.g., MCSE) and SQL Server are a plus.
