Web / Full Stack Developer (Platform)
Location: San Francisco or Mountain View, CA
Duration: 6+ Months Contract or CTH
Requirements
At least 4 years professional experience as a web developer / full stack engineer.
A degree in Computer Science or similar discipline.
Experience with Java, Python, JavaScript.
Solid understanding experience in building RESTful APIs and microservices. Eg. flask.
Experience working with 3rd party APIs.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
A willingness to accept failure, learn and try again.
Nice to Haves
Experience with ReactJS.
Experience with data visualizations like D3, plot.lyFamiliar with graph theory.
Experience on containerized development like Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with building data pipelines.
Description
You would be working in cross-functional teams embedded with data scientists, data engineers, experimenters, to enable campaign execution and partnering with architects and SREs across the org to build reliable connections to other engineering platforms.
You will also need to provide expert guidance to our partner data teams on data reliability and data quality, as well as building instrumentation around monitoring the health of our data platform.
You will also have to be passionate about continuous learning, experimenting, mathematics and general reasoning, given those are going to be your peers on key projects - experimenters, data engineers and data scientists.
You should also be able to pursue and resolve uncharted and/or complex technical problems and be able to share with a broader audience that includes business leaders and non-technical audience.
The best person for this role is someone that has a curious mind - who isn’t afraid to ask questions, learn new things and be humble to data - listen to it even when it disproves their own point of view. This person would also have collaborative spirit - work with people from very different backgrounds, and be able to communicate difficult concepts to others.
The team needs someone who can ask questions, continuously keep learning, and learn from others.
More about you
On our first day, we’ll expect you to have:
Understanding of web development stack - both front end and back end.
Must have experience with ReactJS, NodeJS, SQL
Exceptional debugging skills on both engineering tools as well as data or metrics.
Experience with architecting services on top of cloud engineering services and microservices
Augmenting team, team of 3
Python – 4+ years of experience, doesn’t have to be all python – not too green, 1 year python – 8/10 rating
90% backend
Open to front end.
Know a little SQL – if strong with python its okay not to have SQL
Javascript/React – nice to have
D3 and Plot.ly – nice to have
They work heavy with data, they are building with python, data, sql, building data pipeline, data engineering background
Building microservice, and API’s to support UI
Data work and comfortable around Data.
