Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our dynamic engineering team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying scalable cloud-based solutions with a strong emphasis on data processing and infrastructure optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement optimal cloud-based solutions.
- Define, document, and promote best practices for cloud application deployment and infrastructure management.
- Guide and mentor development teams to build cloud-native applications effectively.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of cloud-hosted applications.
- Develop solutions under the direction of lead architects using GCP, particularly in data engineering and advanced analytics.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle: planning, design, development, testing, and QA.
- Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, document solutions, and proactively prevent recurrence.
- Provide training and documentation to support new cloud-based technologies and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software design and application development.
- Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially with managed services and data engineering tools.
- Strong proficiency with BigQuery, Composer, Airflow, and cloud orchestration techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and modern DevOps practices.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- GCP Data Engineer certification is a plus.
