MuleSoft Integration Architect

Candidate must be located in the Austin 

DIR / Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) 

LOCATION: 6230 E Stassney Lane Austin TX 78744 / HYBRID – Onsite 2 days per week

DURATION: Initial 12 month contract through December 2024      

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Worker will work in the TxDOT Information Technology Division (ITD) Applications Section. Primary duties will consist of solutioning, designing, and development of MuleSoft APIs/integrations. As an architect, the worker will oversee the work of other development staff. Worker may perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 8 years’ experience working in enterprise application integration
  • 8 years’ experience in Core Java, Messaging (JMS), Web API - SOAP, REST, XML, YAML, CSV, TCP, WebSocket, HTTP, REST, JSON, SOAP, JDBC, JMS, FTP
  • 8 years deep understanding of Java Design patterns, Anti-Patterns, Best Practices, and concepts on API Gateways, Service registry and discovery, Centralized Configuration, Centralized Logging, Message Tracing
  • 8 years skilled with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a solution architecture development
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
  • Performs deep analysis of systems and the interactions and defines the most efficient solutions for the interaction between the systems
  • 8 years’ experience with MuleSoft Product and features
  • 8 years good understanding of underlying Mule ESB architecture with experience of server administration and physical deployment (On Cloud, On Premise and Hybrid)

PREFERRED SKILLS: 

  • 5 years’ experience with TxDOT systems1 MuleSoft Integration/platform Architect certification
  • 6 years good knowledge of with microservices architecture and API Strategy development
  • 6 years’ experience with Anypoint platform set up including identity management, Client management, Roles and access, environment, VPC, DLB, VPC sizing, firewalls, network, cloud concepts
  • 5 years’ experience in implementing security aspects including API security, authentication, authorization, message and transport-level security
  • 5 years’ experience in designing performant, scalable, fault-tolerant and highly available application architecture
  • 3 years hands-on development experience in Mule 4.x including RAML design, REST API design, Flow, Sub flow, message processor, connectors, components, scopes, flow control, error handling, batch processing, Dataweave 2.x, java, custom connector SDK, MUnits 

WORK HOURS AND LOCATION:

  • 8 a.m. to 5 pm., 6230 E Stassney Road Austin TX 78744
  • Work will be performed onsite in Austin, during normal business work hours
  • Candidate may be required to work evenings or weekends to meet business needs and deadlines
  • Working remotely is accepted in accordance with TxDOT’s policies. If the resource is in the Austin area, current requirement is to be in the office a minimum of twice a week
