Job Title : IT Customer Relationship Manager

Position Overview

The IT Customer Relationship Manager serves as a strategic liaison between VDOT’s business units and the IT Division (ITD). This role requires a highly collaborative, forward-thinking professional who can foster trusted relationships, manage escalations, and ensure alignment between business needs and IT service delivery.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills, adept at navigating complex stakeholder environments, and experienced in managing product lines, technology procurements, and enterprise-level engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned business partners and district offices.

  • Meet regularly with agency and IT leadership (including executives) to align on priorities and ongoing initiatives.

  • Collaborate with ITD leadership to ensure the successful delivery of products and services.

  • Partner with business and enterprise architecture teams to identify product lines and develop multi-year business capability roadmaps.

  • Manage and resolve escalations related to IT service delivery, projects, or technology procurements.

  • Coordinate across project managers, service managers, and operations teams to prioritize requests and optimize delivery.

  • Identify opportunities for new services, process improvements, and technical innovation.

  • Oversee management of business partner expectations regarding IT engagement and service outcomes.

  • Champion customer needs and advocate for continuous improvement in IT service delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with VDOT and VITA policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
