PURPOSE


Worldwide Express is building a next generation cloud native platform serving customers and internal users, the UI Software Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining a new customer experience through front end UI applications to support our business needs. They will across software development teams to help set and maintain design principles and guidelines across our applications. This includes stand-alone applications as well as Web applications all supporting internal and customer facing business processes
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & OUTCOMES:

  • Develop and maintain greenfield user interface designs in the development and test environments.
  • Create Front-End coding and design guidelines to be used throughout our applications.
  • Mentor other developers and ensure coherent development practices.
  • Work with architecture team to define development toolset.
  • Lead organization code review process.
  • Assist in the development of technical requirements for Agile development teams.
  • Develop updates, corrections, or enhancements including Business Logic for User Interfaces in HTML and JavaScript.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for external UI frameworks or libraries which could enhance and improve products to meet business needs.
  • Work with Operations Team on Application Deployment Issues.
  • Integrate with other technologies using iPaaS, Web Services, EDI, XML, and SQL.
  • Responsible for data security and web site intrusion defenses of web applications
  • Develop technical processes and to support the overall SDLC process including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)


WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • 5 or more years development experience using Java, HTML, and JavaScript in a J2EE environment.
  • 3 or more years experience in SQL and Database Design.
  • 3 or more years knowledge and work experience in XML or EDI for integrating with trading partners.
  • 1 - 3 years of front end development utilizing Angular, Bootstrap, Ionic, or similar technologies.
  • 1 – 3 years of native cloud application development experience in AWS.
  • 2 years experience creating applications in a service oriented architecture.
  • Experience developing Secure web applications containing financial data.
  • Experience developing enterprise software through several complete development lifecycles.
  • Technical Leadership over projects with 6 or more engineers.
  • Experience creating technical design and architecture for a software tool
  • Experience configuring CI/CD systems.
  • Functional knowledge of Java IDE and SVN development tools.
  • Excellent Troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to handle escalated situations.
  • Motivated to learn and grow in experience and knowledge.

 

  • Contribute to our customer research working with digital agency to create personas and establish voice of our customer
  • Lead design thinking sessions with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Create design artifacts such as concept maps, story boards, sketches, wireframes (hi-fidelity / low-fidelity), workflows, etc.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and customers with rapid prototyping to validate product direction
  • Collaborate on development of UI working with front-end developers ensuring end product meets intended concepts / prototypes
  • Build strong relationships with key internal business and IT stakeholders and external partners
  • Present and effectively communicate the creative vision and how it meets business objectives
  • Refresh and expand the creative vision and design as the new platform matures and additional lines of business, features, and products are added.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & OUTCOMES:

 

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • Bachelor Degree, Master preferred
  • 3+ years of industry experience as a UX / UI designer, interaction designer or similar UX-related role
  • 3+ years of experience creating prototypes, hi-fidelity, low-fidelity wireframes for web applications
  • 3+ years of experience working with design tools such as InVision
  • Experience working with in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments collaborating with designers, product owners and developers
  • Good understanding of Front End web technologies like Angular, Bootstrap, etc.
  • Experience with Agile development toolsets from Atlassian suite (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence, etc.)
  • Excellent written and, verbal, analytical and presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Experience in the logistics/transportation industry or adjacent industries applicable to WWEX.
