RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role is for a Technical Architect/Database developer that has managed and conducted the analysis for full scale migrations of Relational Databases.

Candidate should show proficiency in conducting AS-IS/To-Be Assessments and walkthroughs of existing database structures, creating the new structures and managing the to specific milestones while retaining all artifact related to the implementation.

This candidate will use data modeling tools and the latest SQL Server technology to deliver the data migration effort for the implementation of an enterprise wide software application using SQL Server Administration and Integration Services. The position achieves this through the effective planning, capture and translation of data migration requirements into the design and execution of the migration effort for the VERI-NJ platform.

Key Accountabilities
1. Data Migration Planning
a. Identifies, documents and validates data migration scope, risks, constraints, dependencies and assumptions
b. Develops, documents and validates data migration strategy

2. Data Migration Analysis
a. Engages key users and stakeholders in defining data migration requirements
b. Identifies, documents and validates data migration requirements, technology and IT infrastructure requirements and expectations
c. Identifies source data requirements
d. Assesses source data quality
e. Defines business rules for handling source data
f. Identifies, documents and validates target data requirements
g. Maps and specifies the required transformations from the source data to the target data
h. Validates data migration requirements with key users and stakeholders

3. Data Migration Design
a. Designs a staging area for conducting data transformation and fixing errors
b. Designs target data architecture
c. Maps source, staging and target data architectures to each other including rules and transformations
d. Identifies data migration technology
e. Designs data migration procedures
f. Designs data cleansing procedures
g. Designs data conversion procedures
h. Designs data validation procedures
i. Validates data migration design specifications with key users and stakeholders

4. Data Migration execution
a. Tests data migration procedures
b. Creates and populates staging areas
c. Cleanses data
d. Converts/transforms data
e. Performs trial data migrations into staging
f. Performs data migration into production

Prior experience functioning as a technical database modeler involved in hands-on migrations of SQL Server Databases Required 7 Years
Prior experience migrating databases using new fields and datasets independantly Required 7 Years
Prior experience working in a full-cycle database migration including analysis, mapping and implementation Required 7 Years
Prior experience with Data migration planning activities Required 7 Years
Prior experience with Data Migration Analysis activities Required 7 Years
Prior experience with SQL Server 2017 and above Required 1 Years
Prior experience with SSIS Required 7 Years
