SQL DBA

100% Remote

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled SQL DBA responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing database systems. The ideal candidate will ensure database performance, security, availability, and reliability while supporting application and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain SQL database servers
Monitor database performance and implement tuning/optimization
Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues and bottlenecks
Manage database access, roles, and permissions
Support development teams with schema design and query optimization
Implement database patches, upgrades, and migrations
Maintain documentation for database configurations and procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
Experience with database performance tuning and indexing
Understanding of backup & recovery strategies
Knowledge of security best practices
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Familiarity with high availability and replication concepts
Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

Experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL / MS SQL Server / Oracle
Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
Cloud database experience (AWS / Azure / GCP)
Understanding of data modeling and normalization
