Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a mid-level Software Development Engineer to work at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD supporting the Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) C5ISR Center Space & Terrestrial Communications Directorate’s (S&TCD) Tactical Communications Division (TCD 



The experienced Software Development Engineer will become a member of the Commercial Technology Integration & Evaluation (CTIE) branch team, which is responsible for research, evaluation, and integration of wireless technologies (LTE, WIFI, WiMax, etc), solutions, and products in the development of a multi-layered, multi-technology access network intended for tactical deployment.  The selected candidate should have a strong interest in working in a demanding, hands on environment supporting the Department of Defense and other specialized customers. 

A Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a relevant discipline, and four to six (4-6) years of related experience is required, including at least four (4+) years of C++ experience and knowledge.



Beginner to mid-level Linux experience from the user/application perspective is required, as well as experience with embedded Linux software development. Experience with QtCreator, working knowledge of user interface design, and the ability to implement object orientated architecture is required. Database programming experience is highly desired.



The selected candidate must have an Active DoD Security Clearance.

The successful candidate will assist in the development of test plans for evaluating commercial cellular base stations primarily in terms of supported users, system stability, and data rates.  Additionally, the Software Development Engineer helps develop ad hoc test scripts to automate repetitive tasks during evaluations and analyze and compile test data into official test reports for customer delivery. The Software Development Engineer will also:



Work both independently and as a member of a small team to evaluate commercial equipment being considered for tactical deployment with the US Army and other DoD services.
Assess software capabilities through documentation review.
Design, develop, evaluate, and maintain software design documentation as needed.
Coordinate with the Engineering and Test teams, to ensure that software meets a strict set of defined requirements.
