Description
As a Senior SRE/DevOps Engineer, you focus on using the latest cloud technologies to architect, scale and monitor our services and products. You will be a champion of systems, infrastructure automation and security. This is a hands-on technical position. The ideal candidate has prior experience managing Cloud Infrastructure and Enterprise applications striving to solve traditional operations problems through automation and software. You must possess a high standard of excellence, solid written and verbal communication skills, have a strong customer focus, and be capable of technical deep dives into web applications, application performance, databases, load balancers, networks, and cloud storage.
Requirements
Summary of Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership and oversight with your strong understanding of Cloud services, DevOps/ DevSecOps toolsets and platforms including compute, storage, networking, Security, Kubernetes, service mesh, CI/CD, and observability.
· Drive automation of Cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, self-service, Infrastructure-as-Code services, Auto Scale initiatives, and DevOps deployment.
· Implement security baselines and standards for Azure resources including Network access, restriction of internet-facing resource provision and configuration within the Azure environment.
· Contribute to infrastructure improvements, architecture, development, and deployment.
· Provide expertise and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both infrastructure and application provisioning and configurations in Microsoft Azure.
· Work with application teams with their digital transformation goals and provide Azure resource deployment orchestration, automation, security, and configuration expertise.
· Lead and implement all aspects of a cloud migration initiative, including its impact on infrastructure, networks, and security.
· Establish a continuous improvement plan for Cloud Operations, including technology reviews, root cause analysis, action reports analysis, and cloud portfolio review to ensure adequate infrastructure to provide a suitable operating environment(s) for critical applications.
· Create observability strategies with focus on self-healing mechanisms.
· Reduce Mean Time To Recover (MTTR) for micro and macro recoveries.
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by following the broader industry, attending training sessions and educational workshops.
· Contribute to roadmap development, execution, and releases.
· Ensure all applications are fault-tolerant, highly available where possible, and make efficient and effective use of computing resources.
· Collaborate with software engineering, product, and design teams to ensure that software releases, internal and external, can be done easily (and retracted easily if need be).
· Define and develop architectural standards that promote DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
· Optimizing solution architectures to manage costs and identify cost control mechanisms.
· Document processes and train other team members.
Requirements:
· Experience in designing and implementing applications using PaaS Services in a hybrid Azure environment.
· Hands-on experience:
o deploying Azure resources from Azure DevOps pipelines
o writing Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates and modules
o writing Azure policies
o writing scripts in PowerShell or Azure CLI
o migrating applications to the Azure
o writing reusable IaC for multi-environments (e.g., dev, uat, prod)
· As an Azure SME, the individual should be able to:
o advise application team with various azure services
o advise applications with Azure resource configuration with security focus
o define the operating procedure in a Cloud environment
o support with performance tuning and testing activity
· Experience with SaaS based Observability solutions (AlertLogic, New Relic, Datadog, Sentry).
· Experience with multiple databases (MS SQL, Azure SQL, Postgres, MySQL, Redis).
· Proven ability to implement secure and highly available infrastructure services.
· A passion for advancing and continually improving our DevOps automation and practices to keep our applications easy to deploy, monitor, and scale.
· You have experience with writing and managing container-based infrastructure.
· You are familiar with segregation of duties and data standards such as SOC/SSAE, CIS, or PCI.
· Good understand difference between structure, semi-structured and unstructured data.
· You are familiar with SLI and SLOs.
· 3 + years of Terraform is a must.
· 3 + years of scripting language (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell, etc...).
· 2 + years in SRE/DevOps role.
· 2 + years of experience in an IT Infrastructure Engineering role.
· 3 + years of proven experience in Azure PaaS services such as Azure AppService, Azure Kubernetes services.
· 3 + years of experience with Azure network infrastructure such as Virtual WAN, vNETs, subnets, Network Security Groups, route tables, ACLs) Azure AD, DNS, and domain management.
· 2 + years of proven experience with Azure database services such as Azure SQL, Azure COSMOS DB and MongoDB.
· Spanish language is a plus.
· Proven experience in Azure security tools such as Azure Security Center, Azure Key Vault and Azure Policies.
