The Oracle EBS Platform Engineer is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating Oracle packaged business systems to align business strategic vision and user needs where a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This role serves as a functional analyst, solution designer, configurator, validator, and performs quality assurance. The Oracle EBS Platform Engineer partners and aligns with key stakeholders and product owners to determine business and technical requirements for a proposed capability. The role will conduct analysis of business processes, develop user scenarios, and provide solution options intended to further the understanding of the desired outcome. Examples of deliverables include the documentation of business process flows, functional requirements, user scenarios, test cases, automated test scripts, application configurations, and solution options to support system and process changes for new capabilities. The individual is hands-on in the Oracle E-Business Suite module functionality and its configuration to support order to cash, financials, and supply chain processes. The individual is experienced in configuring the E-business platform to achieve desired business outcomes and designing custom software extensions to support Cox Automotive business needs. This person is expected to be a subject matter expert within IT who is knowledgeable as to how E-Business can be configured and or extended to support existing and new business or operational processes that comply with business controls. The person must often rely on deep application and business process knowledge as well as prior implementation experience to make sound technical design decisions in order to plan and accomplish goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in design efforts to modify and add new functionality to Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) modules, including designing functional specifications for Interfaces, Extensions, Workflows, Conversions, and Reports.
  • Provides subject matter expertise not only in Oracle EBS, but in one or more of the surrounding tools / technology areas including: SOA, Custom API development, Swagger API editor, Test Complete, SOAP UI/SOAP UI Pro, Vertex tax engine, WCI, SQL, PLSQL, Jenkins, Rally
  • Partners with Product Owners to understand their needs and develop innovative solution options that balance timeliness, scope, complexity, and cost.
  • Develops a deeper understanding of business needs from a financial and accounting perspective and how technology solutions impact current and future state business processes and controls.
  • Performs work within an Agile development team and fosters a team mindset with all delivery team members to work towards shared goals and objectives. Understands agile software methodology and tools (Rally).
  • Knows which technologies and/or Oracle E-Business modules can accomplish customer goals, and when customizations would be required.
  • Creates, maintains, and executes automated test scripts using tools such as Test Complete, SOAP UI Pro, and Ruby. Performs unit, functional, and integration testing and validates that test results meet desired outcomes.
  • Designs test data scenarios and writes data manipulation language (DML) to modify existing and create new test data.
  • Serves as level 3 support and resolves critical production issues which are escalated beyond level 1 and level 2 support personnel.
  • Develops a deep understanding of Cox Automotive applications and their interdependencies with Oracle EBS applications, customers, and business processes within the areas they support.
  • Able to interact and build trusted relationships with all levels of personnel, including management, from both business and technology teams.
  • Experienced in developing business case documents along with a cost/benefit analysis.
  • Knows how to identify risks and escalate potential business issues.
  • Knowledgeable in areas of business analysis (as defined by BABOK), including requirements planning, management, elicitation, communication, documentation, and solution validation.

Compensation:

  • Compensation includes a base salary of $84,660 - 118,626. Salary may vary outside of the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidates experience.
  • Position is eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
