As the CMDB/Discovery Administrator, you will be responsible for providing services, asset tracking, administration and manage all aspects of the CMDB process. CMDB / Discovery Administrator: * Maintains the governance, policies and direction of the CMDB working closing with the Asset Management and ITSM teams. * Ability to comprehend, modify and create server-side, object-oriented JavaScript, Unix Shell scripting and Windows scripting along with PowerShell and WMI Namespace knowledge.* Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders to ensure an effective CMDB that adheres to governance standards* ‘CCNA level of networking knowledge (minimum) to include routing protocols, TCP/UDP transmission, IP transit diagnosis, subnetting, and ability to implement advanced troubleshooting including the ability to gather and analyze IP packet- level data.* Intermediate knowledge and ability of Server Administration across OS platforms, including the understanding of described domain structures, user permission levels, group policy objects and the execution of SUDO policies.* Understanding of business applications and their functionality in the ITIL model.* Ability to communicate and implement the ITIL CMDB Model.* Deep understanding of ServiceNow CMDB CI tables and structures including module interactions.* Understanding of the CSDM 3.0 Model* Service Mapping Admin to maintain the application and add new services* CMDB Administrator to maintain the governance, policies and direction of the CMDB. Analysis and Design * Assists in the definition of end user requirements, functionality specifications, and deliverables for specific platform and provides estimates for work effort required.* Designs new and modifies existing customizations, conversions and interfaces as necessary. * Designs dashboards, correlation rules, alerts and reports.* Maintains all technical deliverables including technical design specifications and documentation of all configuration changes.* Works with software test engineers to provide testing frameworks.* Identifies single point of failure and operational gaps and weaknesses and develops plans for remediation and improvements.Application Configuration * Configures and tests specific platform software to meet business needs. * Develops new and modifies existing customizations, conversions and interfaces. * Creates dashboards, correlation rules, alerts and reports.* Works with vendor, as necessary, on implementation activities.* Works with release engineers to deploy all changes to production environment for assigned applications.* Plans for and manages the upgrade cycle for the platform. Qualifications: Essential Qualifications* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education* Working experience in design, development, and implementation of software systems * Working experience in specific platform technology* Working experience with specific platforms capabilities and limitations and can clearly communicate those to customers* Working experience with leading teams through cross-functional projectsDesirable Qualifications* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education.* Masters may be preferred in some areas* Working experience of analysis, design and programming* Working experience of application lifecycle methodologies (e.g. waterfall, agile, iterative)* 5 - 8 years of working experienceWho We Are*About Cox Automotive*Theres nothing ordinary about Cox Automotive.
