Cox Communications is searching for a Senior Manager, Engineering Data Governance. You will lead a team of full-time and/or contract resources responsible for driving standards, enabling solutions and orchestrating network inventory and data governance in support of future state, software defined, virtualized network lifecycle management.
In addition, you will be responsible for requirements gathering, delivery of metrics, key performance indicators, reports, integration design, support and uptime of the network inventory management system.
You will complete high level designs, test criteria, and coordinates with Field Engineering & Operations and deployment teams to evolve the Inventory Management solution to meet continued growth and customer needs.

Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

- Manages staff responsible for defining the strategic and long-term direction of inventory management solutions.
- Provides leadership with recommendations for network inventory management system improvements.
- Manage several programs or projects as needed. To include but not limited to:
o Enterprise wide, real time, network inventory asset accuracy
o All areas of network inventory management system enhancement requests
o Security Assurance related requests for integration and metrics
o Revenue Assurance support requests for residential and business services
o Service Assurance activity enrichment
- Develop Inventory Management KPI dashboards to proactively measure the performance of current and future inventory management solution.
- Proactively understands boundary partners business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the business, and the short- and long-term direction of the business and technology.
- Facilitates and leads discussions across functional groups, field locations, and key stakeholders to identify and validate technology solution strategy, supporting initiatives, and key deliverables.
- Partners with cross-functional departments to develop rollout schedules and technology releases ensuring business needs are supported in all phases throughout the process.
- Coaches and develops people resources to maximize strengths and develop strong, collaborative partnerships within the Technology organization and across business functions. Advises and coaches team members on procedures, technical problems, priorities and standard methodology.



  • 7+ years experienced in a related field (e.g. IT, Engineering); 5+ years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
  • Prior leadership experience either as a people leader
  • Understanding of data governance principles (data governance, enablement and maintenance/support) and inventory management systems (Granite, GNIS, etc.)
  • Prior experience in evaluating new technologies, developing future technology roadmaps and associated budgets on a broad scale.
  • Excellent soft skills such as interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization


  • BS/BA degree in related discipline (computer science, engineering)
  • 5+ years experience in a management role
  • Prior experience working for a service provider
  • Prior experience with inventory management systems / data governance
