DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: (Required)The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of Systems Analyst hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Systems Analyst 2 and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Department of Transportation.
Worker will perform these Tasks:x Implement and administer Linux services, Patching, security policies, standards, and procedures in coordination with TxDOT Security and Information Security Service Component Providerx Interface with Service Provider support as needed, including opening tickets with TxDOT Vendors when support is neededx Participate in the annual review of machine plans and workload forecasts with TxDOT (the Service Provider shall include long-range technology forecasts and technology refresh planning in this capacity planning process to ensure that TxDOT will realize the full benefits of technology and performance trends)x Advise (or manage) any upgrade or configuration change of an existing operating systemx Test new versions of machines, operating system, and software prior to recommending the implementation of these products for TxDOTx Work with and provide input on solutions from TxDOT and DCS Solution Architectsx Provide Linux L3 support for all TxDOT data centers, cloud experiencex Work with Applications tower to implement any applications changes and upgradesx Manage ticket queues as appropriate.x Create / Advise on processes.x Participate on call rotation Managex Ability to work with Multiple vendorsx Assist in audit processes
WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSMinimum (Required):Years Skills/Experience10 IT system administration experience 5 Managing Linux environments and servers (Redhat)2 Ansible experience
