Position:Senior AS/400 / IBM i Technical Lead (RPG, Synon/2E, PBM)
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
Contract: 12+ Months Contract
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 7 years of experience with a deep understanding of AS/400 application development.
At least 5 years of application development experience in RPG, RPGLE, and CL; Synon2/E (also known as COOL 2/E).
5+ years of experience with IBMi SQL.
5+ years of recent experience in a leadership role.
Proficiency in IBM X-analysis, ALDON, and Hawkeye.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven track record of successfully completing several mediums to large scope projects.
Proficiency in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and adept at problem determination and resolution through research and fact-finding.
Experience with RxClaim or other PBM Adjudication systems is highly preferred.
Roles sought: 12 technical hires focused on modernizing a claims system (RxClaim/PBM/Rx ecosystem).
Core technical must-haves: ILE RPG, free-format RPG, Signon (Sion/2E) knowledge.
Important complementary skills: CL/Control Language, SQL/iSeries concepts (able to design and query DBs, not necessarily be a DBA).
Desired attributes: solution-oriented, system/architecture design, performance- minded, simplicity/configurability/maintainability, scalability thinking, strong troubleshooting and coding ability.
Senior expectations: design/solution ownership, introduce automation and rigorous validation, represent work to stakeholders, mentor/lead vendor teams.
Hands-on leadership: leading means both guiding 3 4 offshore/onshore resources (eventually 4 6) and being technically hands-on coding, reviewing, troubleshooting.
Reporting and tracking: weekly dashboard/tracker requested showing requirement status, next steps, and projected onboard dates to monitor progress.
Cultural/operational expectations: take ownership, meet deadlines (regulatory compliance), adapt and learn quickly, be diligent and reliable.
