Title: Sr. Project Manager

Location: Chicago, IL [100% Remote project – can be anywhere in US but should work in CDT zone]

Tenure: 12+ Months/ Contract

  • Should be able to interview/be hired within two weeks’ timeframe
  • Prefer Project management exp. if someone has Program management exp, that will be a win.
  • Maximum Number of Total years of experience is 14 years. Cannot submit more than that!
  • Must have 5-7 recent years of Project Management experience.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall project management and quality control.
  • Provides the methodology for all PDM deliverables.
  • Provides daily direction to the team, establishes the project plan, responsible for issue and risk escalation and mitigation.
  • This personnel is also responsible for managing the budget, forecast, schedule, and scope.
  • Assist the Executive Sponsor and Business Project Owner in prioritizing the project, the vendor and software selection process, as well as all deliverables listed in the AFE justification.
  • Responsible for supplying the Executive Sponsor, Business Project Owner, PMO, IT Finance and Controller’s department regular updates on progress against budget, scope, schedule, and goals.
  • Any changes that could significantly affect the budget, scope, schedule, and goals should be communicated immediately to the parties noted above.
  • The Project Manager is also responsible for creating tasks in MS Project Server under the appropriate Project Phase and Stage so that expenditures can be properly categorized by IT Finance as expense vs capital, as well as, communicating any In Service and Out of Service requests to IT Finance and Controller’s department.

 

Job Requisites:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • COMMUNICATION: Communication on scale of 1 to 10 – Must be at least an “8+”.
  • LEADER/CONFIDENCE: Demonstrated ability to drive business outcomes, possesses strong leadership capabilities to lead and direct project teams, including proven ability to build successful and effective project teams, leading team decision-making processes, and fostering an environment of healthy team discussion and collaboration.
  • COMMITTED: Candidate shows how they have learned about the business they are working for, build strong business relationships and the ability to add value by pairing up technology and business processes through the PMO’s methodologies (e.g., hybrid waterfall-agile, iterative)
  • CHANGE ADAPTER: Ability to contribute consistently and positively in a dynamic, high-paced, and sometimes unpredictable work environment.
  • MULTI-TASKING: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and facilitate project alignment between business and technical teams.
  • TIME MANAGEMENT: Excellent time management and organizational skills with appropriate sense of urgency and proactive approach.
  • Between 10-14 years’ experience
  • If less than 7 years’ experience, there can be shorter assignments but over that they need to show staying a few places at least a year (and/or working for a company multiple times).
  • Project MethodologyNo candidates with only Agile experience. Waterfall and Iterative/ Hybrid Waterfall are a better fit (PMs have deeper responsibility for all parts of the project)
  • Project Life Cycle – We’re looking for someone who has been involved in all stages of a project. Includes engaging project teams and vendors in project initiation, planning activities (managing contracts, resource onboarding), managing project schedules, dependencies, risks and issues, and project closure activities.
