Our client is looking for a consultant who is a Desktop Platform Engineer to work in a Global Digital Workspace Engineering function.
The candidate will possess subject matter expertise across end usercomputing technology disciplines, with a focus in delivering on the MicrosoftWindows platform, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, and applicationmanagement solutions. The role will be part of a global project team todrive end user workstyle transformation across the organization.
THE DAY TO DAYRESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate will:
? Join a team with global engineeringresponsibility on the enterprise Windows and end user computingplatforms.
? Work with the Technical Domain Architect tooversee engineering projects in managing resources and deliverables within timeand budget, will respond to third level escalations on technology stacksassociated with the technical domain.
? Need to work closely with other members of theengineering team, specifically those located in Hong Kong and London. As aresult flexible working hours will need to be supported.
? The position is an advanced engineering rolerequiring full spectrum of subject matter knowledge, industry awareness, aswell as business and technical acumen.
? MUST be skilled in translating complex businessrequirements into well-structured research, design, and documentation toproduce global technical solutions with maximized cost-effectiveness.
? Will engage with a wide audience of technologyand business groups in analyzing requirements, presenting solutions, definingplatform strategy, and driving adoption of new technology.
THE SKILLS YOU NEEDTO GET THE JOB:
? Advanced knowledge/experience in Windows DesktopTechnologies, including Windows 10 configuration, user environmentmanagement, Active Directory, group policies.
? Advanced knowledge with Microsoft EndpointConfiguration Manager (MECM), with strong experience managing OS deployment,application deployment, software updates, and resource management.
? Experience managing user-targeted softwaredeployment.
? Advanced knowledge in Windows applicationpackaging technologies, including MSI, App-V, UWP.
? Strong in creating workflow automation andintegration and in creating workflow and testing automation framework.
? Proven experience in Windows scripting includingPowerShell, VBScript.
? Strong knowledge in managing end user computinghardware devices, specifically in configuring and securing laptop devices inremote access work styles.
? Experience in managing global desktop platformand desktop hardware migration.
? Experience implementing/supporting end userself-service systems for desktop services such as application installation.
? Technical knowledge of supporting networksystems and technologies in a distributed global organization.
? Prior experience in an engineering role in alarge global organization, preferably in the finance industry.
? Proven stakeholder management skills and strongteam dynamics to achieve in a mixed and geographically dispersed virtual globalteam.
? Strong sense of work ethics and discipline incomplying with regulations and policies.
? Highly self-motivated/result-drivenand independent.
? Strong oral/written communication skills -English is a must.
DESIRABLE:
? Advanced experience in virtualizationtechnologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware Horizon, Citrix.
? Knowledge in designing a thin office / freeseating environment with stateless desktop technologies and an user-targetedapplication service experience.
? Knowledge in user environment managementsolutions such as AppSense, RES, UE-V.
? Experience in evaluation, selection, anddesigning management framework for end user computing devices, including mobiledevices, tablets, laptops, desktop thin clients.
? Knowledge in end user desktop conferencingsolutions including software phone and conference room collaboration solutions.
? Knowledge in designing user printing services ina globally dispersed office environment.
? Strong awareness of industry trends, products,solutions, and best practices
