Candidate should be local to Irvine, CA because need to attend meeting once in a month
5yrs of project management experience is mandatory
PM will manage the Project risk, vendor engagement (multiple), and other project management variables. Strong documentation will be required to ensure a smooth handoff when an internal staff is secured and assigned. Projects are very visible and critical, and contractor should be experienced working with senior leadership.
Requirements
? Strong senior technical project management history.
? Longer term contract engagements and/or employment experience indicating full cycle responsibility and completion of projects.
? PMP required
? Experience managing vendor software implementation projects.
? Exceptional stakeholder management, written and verbal communication skills.
? Ability to manage multiple projects.
Experience and skills:
•5 years of direct, hands-on software development project management experience
•Demonstrates excellent communication (verbally and in writing) and interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with a broad range of personnel at all levels across the campus and with varying level of technical knowledge and/or project management concepts.
•Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.
•Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques.
•Able to identify project risk and proactively manage it by developing creative solutions and engaging the team to respond.
•Broad knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.
•Proven leadership ability. Effective problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to put forth persuasive arguments.
•Effective skill at tracking effort and project progress. Demonstrated highly advanced organization and project management skills. Demonstrated strong conceptual and planning skills to analyze projects of broad and diverse scope. Understands the cost impact of projects, project tracking tools and metrics.
•Strong ability leading colleagues and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, milestones, and critical success factors and gates for moving from phase to phase.
•Proficient in compiling and presenting project status in varying ways to meet the needs and to be understandable by the intended audience.
•Effective at leading meetings with cross-functional (business users and technical staff) teams.
•Strong proficiency in MS Project
Preferred:
•CSM, ITIL certifications
•Knowledge of Smartsheet , Confluence, JIRA or other project scheduling/collaboration tools
Key Responsibilities:
? Applies advanced technical project management concepts with a full understanding of project management practices and IT policies and procedures to manage complex/cross-functional business and technology projects. Provides analysis for highly complex, project-related issues.
? Has overall project management responsibility. Assembles and directs large project teams, develops detailed project plans and schedules and monitors budget and resources. Directs project activities with the goal of completing the project on schedule and within budget constraints. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Oversees the project from initiation through delivery including system integration and setup of post-delivery operational support and maintenance; act as single point of contact in interaction with vendors and managing risk/issues.
? Identify stakeholders, gather requirements and participate in requirements analysis and fit-gap sessions, recording key functional requirements and group decisions. Document all decisions related to newly defined procedures.
