Project Scope / Components: Optum Financial (HBA space) has a legacy connector care portal. The tech was acquired by Optum Fin last year, they have been doing integrations and getting it connected. On the Optum Bank side they have Cap Portal which is very similar so they have two portals doing the same thing. They want to take the good (business logic & functionality) from both and build out a newer portal. Eventually they would migrate the 10s of millions on the different platforms to the new tech.

Very early stages of the rebuild, have a solution direction and are n the process of proving that out they are getting out of that stage and are looking to build Steve's team with multiple resources as well as pull people over.

Full slate for the legacy systems, so looking to augment the team with newer resources to make more progress on the new build. Also have teams on the backend building out the domains (data architecture and orchestration) + pulling the old legacy stuff into the new domains.

This is a platform they are building, so they do want to see that platform experience ideally (not just building web apps understand what its like for building a platform)

  • Each portal has a web aspect, as well as native mobile apps the scope is to use React Native for Mobile and web i.e. Cross Platform development
    • Single code base where the RN code compiles to web & mobile

Team Size & Breakdown: Would join the large platform team to build the Micro front end architecture would have a Product Owner, Agile Coach supporting multiple teams, but once they staff the resources they will slot them into a specific scrum pod.

Development Methodology: Agile 2 week sprint

High-Level Individual Duties:

  • 100% New Development
    • Building out a Micro frontend give them an SDK and they plug in Accounts, Cards etc.
    • Connect to the domains being built by the backend team

Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools):

  • React Native
    • JavaScript or Typescript Typescript is preferred
    • State Management experience tooling TBD (Saga, Context, Redux etc.)
    • CSS / HTML / LESS / Componentization
  • Platform experience
    • Really want to see some Native Mobile &Web and Portal experience vs. just being a Hybrid Mobile Developer
  • Testing skills
  • Strong Communication

Nice to have:

  • Native Mobile App experience
  • React.JS
  • Typescript
  • Material UI
  • Context and Hooks
    • API experience in either Java or Node as well as how to connect them with a UI
    • GraphQL
  • Micro frontend architecture (Wix)
