Job Description for Test Automation Engineer

Seeking a Test Automation Engineer or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) that can collaborate with DevOps engineers, developers, and cloud engineers to plan, design, and develop test automation to support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) in a DevOps pipeline.

Develops test automation for integration, regression, and functional testing on systems to ensure compliance with system requirements and Navy Federal business practices and policies. Assists in the analysis of functional and technical requirements and the creation and editing of test cases for new or modified systems.

Required:

  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams in agile settings to understand business requirements to develop test automation to support CI/CD
  • Experience implementing cloud native test automation tools and defining frameworks and methods that increase efficiency
  • Experience using Micro Focus Unified Function Testing (UFT) to develop functional and regression test automation for mainframe and web applications, SOA services, and APIs
  • Advanced VBScript programming and Micro Focus UFT test script development
  • Experience with XPath
  • Experience working on an agile team following Kanban, Scrum, or Scaled Agile frameworks
  • Experience managing requirements, user stories, test cases, defects, and execution in tools such as Azure Boards, Azure Test Plans, and Azure Pipelines
  • Experience with Azure Repos, GitHub, or Bitbucket
  • Experience testing with Micro Focus ALM or similar Test Management Systems
  • Experience with continuous testing to support CICD pipelines using Azure Pipelines or Jenkins
  • Experience with Behavioral Driven Development (BDD), Cucumber, and Gherkin
  • Experience automating ADA accessibility testing for web and documentation
  • Experience automating PDF document comparison testing

Desired:

  • Strong development skills in core Java concepts and Selenium Test Automation
  • Experience with dependency tracking tools such as Maven
  • Understanding of Test Automation tools and methods that facilitate Test Driven Development
  • Experience interfacing test results with ServiceNow for Change Management
  • ASTQB certifications such as CTFL, Agile Tester, CTAL-TAE
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
