Project Manager Valve Manufacturing
Location : Houston TX-Onsite
Experience 10-15 years
JOB PURPOSE:
  • The Project Manager is responsible for keeping the project on-time and on-budget.
  • This position will provide oversight and ownership of specific project-related engineering, cost control, planning, scheduling, procurement, and document control in support of valve manufacturing projects
  • This position provides periodic reports to the Director of Project Management and is a key member of the PMO (Project Management Office).
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • General
  • Responsible for the success of the project; Includes on-time on-budget delivery.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the customer, builds and maintains relationship with customer and provides customer periodic updates
  • Provides periodic status updates to the Director of Project Management
  • Leads the periodic team meetings and ensures information flows smoothly among the team members
  • Responsible for stakeholder identification and developing project charter, project management, risk management plan, communication plan
  • Ensures staff under his/her command are adequately trained and equipped to carry out their respective assignments
  • Ensures staff are adequately cross-trained, to provide continuous coverage so that project progress is not adversely affected
  • Validates and provides periodic reports of schedule, cost, engineering progress, materials procurement status
  • Has expert-level working knowledge, with understanding of implications of nonconformance of the contracts assigned to him/her.
  • Engineering
  • Works closely to monitor the progress of Engineering scope of the projects assigned to him/her
  • Coordinates with discipline engineering leads to ensure projects progress according to plan and takes remedial actions if, and when deviations occur
  • Works with Process Engineering to optimize resource utilization by combining identical designs on multiple projects and reduces overall durations
  • Cost Control
  • Reviews and provides key inputs to the Estimating team in the preparation of proposals for RFQs from Clients
  • Owns and controls the budget to the best advantage of COMPANY
  • Reviews and approves project related expenditures as authorized or obtains further approval
  • Responsible to ensure the projects are completed under budget
  • Ensures change orders are initiated by the cost controllers as soon as a need or as opportunity arises based on contractual terms
  • Guides & mentors the cost controllers
  • Provides periodic reports and dashboards
  • Ensures project milestones are achieved per the plan
  • Responsible for timely invoicing and revenue collection
  • Manages the Risk Register and provides periodic reports
  • Scheduling
  • Ensures critical path analysis is carried out periodically
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate float within the Project Schedules
  • VALIDATES AND PROVIDES PERIODIC REPORTS
  • COORDINATES WITH OTHER COMPANY PROJECT MANAGERS TO OPTIMIZE RESOURCES TO ACHIEVE MAXIMUM PRODUCTIVITY WHERE POSSIBLE
  • Procurement
  • Ensures all technical and contractual terms are included in the purchase orders placed by COMPANY
  • At a high level, ensures all shipping activities are planned in a cost-effective manner
  • Document Control
  • Owns all communications on assigned projects
  • Ensures the Document Controllers adhere to COMPANY procedures
  • ENSURES ALL DOCUMENTATION IS COMPLETE PRIOR TO CLOSEOUT OF INDIVIDUAL PURCHASE ORDERS AND SUBCONTRACTS
  • HSE Roles and Responsibilities
  • Understand, follow, and comply with all HSE policies, procedures, standards and requirements, safe work procedures and instructions applicable to the worker s position
  • Take reasonable care to protect own health and safety, as well as of other workers present while working; Set a good example
  • Carry out work in a manner that will not create a hazard to himself/herself and other workers
  • Properly use all the safety equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other devices and procedures provided or directed by the COMPANY Industries Inc. and necessary for their protection
  • Co-operate with COMPANY Industries Inc. s own supervisor and manager for the purposes of protecting the health and safety of all employees
  • Immediately report all incidents to the supervisor or the Joint HSE Committee Representative, including but not limited to, near misses, property damage, injuries and illnesses
  • Assist the Joint HSE Committee by being a representative if required and/or provide information when asked
  • Actively participate in the workplace inspection program to help create a safer and healthier work environment by making suggestions/recommendations to improve existing conditions and HSE requirements
  • Acknowledge that performing modified work is a condition of employment once medical clearance is given following a workplace injury/illness
  • Acknowledge that they have the DUTY and OBLIGATION to refuse Unsafe Work
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Required to supervise 5-10 employees
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors in business administration, Project Management, or other related degree
  • Engineering degree is preferred, but not required
  • Fifteen to Twenty years of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with an MRP system.
  • Experience with a project tracking system and collaboration software, preferably MS Projec
