Position: Project manager (Data Governance)
Location: New York City NY
Duration: 6 month Hire

POSITION OBJECTIVE
We are seeking an experienced data governance project manager to drive successful execution of critical and complex data integrity initiatives. This position will provide leadership and transparency through all phases of the data governance program / project lifecycle. Data governance project manager will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards, practices, to achieve required level of enterprise data consistency and quality. Experience in implementing data warehouse and data integrations projects is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The section below list key work activities the data governance project manager must demonstrate to achieve the position objective listed above.
Responsible for end-to-end management of multiple data governance projects simultaneously, i.e. all phases of project from concept, project planning, development, execution, monitoring to project close down.
Ownership of ongoing data functions/needs firm wide.
Provide leadership in solving data issues and improving data governance processes.
Define, develop and maintain business processes for successful data governance.
Produces recommendations to data governance committee for enterprise-wide guiding principles, processes and practices for effective data governance.
Need to be between business stakeholders, financial reporting and information technology teams.
Collaborate with data architects, data analysts, business analysts, third party vendor and business owners to ensure success of our data governance objectives.
Demonstrate ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects.
Solid business analysis, customer interaction and problem-solving skills.
Proactively manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress, effective decision-making and prioritization, and leadership / oversight for issue resolution
Share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels.
Previous experience in building large data warehouse and data normalization implementations, involving multiple systems.
