Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Priority:
Experience focused on campus networks, data centers, layer 2 (500 server min), layer 3
Need expertise in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS/IS and Static Routing
Need experience with VRFs and MPLS
Cisco 6500, Nexus 7k, 5k, and 9k switches (installation)
Cisco ASR 1000, 9000 - aggregation services routers
Required:
Need mastery of Cisco IOS / Cisco NXOS / Cisco IOS-XR /
Need knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP
OSI Model Layer1 - Layer7
Knows automation - scripts for provisioning (Ansible preferred) & monitoring both hardware and networks
VLANS, private VLANS
Do not want candidates with only telephony
Multicast experience, Video – nice to have
Need knowledge of SNMP
Need server hardware knowledge
Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Visio
Ability to work independently and solve complex network and systems issues with little or no assistance
Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge and skills immediately
Trustworthy with ability to lead; work honestly with little or no supervision
Ability to run a project, interact with necessary resources, and complete the project on time with little supervision
Ability to interact well with other employees at different geographical locations via phone and email
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have:
Juniper devices, especially MX series routers and EX switching
Arista EOS / JUNOS
Arista Switches and spine/leaf topology
Need experience with VXLAN / EVPN
Need knowledge of Firewalls (ASA, SRX, Checkpoint, Fortigate, Palo Alto)
Need knowledge of VPN (Site-to-Site & Client based)
Need knowledge of load balancing, preferably F5 and/or A10
Need Linux (CentOS/Redhat) knowledge
Need Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 knowledge
Education and/or Experience:
College degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
Certification level preferred: CCNP (or similar)
Other network related certifications a plus
