Description: A Senior Systems Engineer provides technical support in system architecture, system design, system integration and technical management. Assists in providing technical input to the systems engineering process. Leads teams in developing application and technical plans. Guide customers in the installation and use of strategic products through education and guidance, first-use and tuning assistance problem solving and critical situation resolution.

Education Requirements:

Master's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. With 10 years of experience/ 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education

Description:

Must Haves:

Active Directory and Group Policy: Managing user and group accounts, permissions, and configuring system settings through Group Policy.

Networking: Configuring and troubleshooting TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WMI, and VPN network services.

PowerShell: Be able to manage systems efficiently through scripting proficiently.

Virtualization: Using technologies like VMware and Azure to manage virtual machines.

Backup and Recovery: Implementing and maintaining policies to prevent data loss.

Server Management: Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows server hardware and software.

Security: Implementing security protocols.

Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Using tools to monitor system performance and optimize it for efficiency.

Operating Systems: Deep knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Databases: Familiarity with services like Microsoft Exchange Server, IIS, and SQL Server.

Nice to Haves:

ServiceNow Discovery: Basic to high-level knowledge of the Discovery application, including how to configure probes, patterns, and credentials.

CMDB: Strong understanding of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure accurate data population and health.

System Integration: Familiarity with system integration concepts and how the MID server facilitates communication between external systems and ServiceNow

Load Balancing: Ability to configure and manage multiple MID servers for load balancing and failover.

MID Server Configuration: Skills in correctly setting up MID servers, including assigning specific capabilities (e.g., Discovery, Orchestration) and clustering them for resilience.

Troubleshooting: Ability to monitor MID server health by checking logs, performance metrics, and resolving common issues like credential failures or network problems.

Performance Tuning: Knowledge of how to optimize performance by limiting probes, segmenting IP ranges, and using filters.

Security: Understanding security implications, such as firewall rules, and how to securely configure the MID server and its communication with target servers.
