Job Description:

Provide expertise in reliability as an individual contributor.
Be responsible for supporting the engineering aspects of reliability tests, including working with the specification, usage model, development engineers and the DFMEA to assure that the test conditions and readouts are updated and meaningful.
Identify and follow up failures or degrades in devices reported by test engineers, support initial FA, analyze the data, communicate and collaborate with the development team on the next steps and documentation.
Participate in related R&D team meetings and review meetings where relevant, particularly on root cause analysis, failure reproduction and corrective design actions.
Where applicable and necessary, be able to generate failure rate estimates.
Provide sufficient and efficient Reliability and Quality support to the program, highlight and address Reliability and Quality failures in the EV and DV phase, and possible test result deviations according to relevant specifications and standards.
Contribute to reliability test technologies & test methods development actively. Experience giving engineering guidance the test activity for system products (e.g. a laptop computer) or on the reliability of PCBA’s is a positive.


Qualification:

BS, MS or PhD in ME required and/or 15+ years of relevant experience delivering design for reliability requirements for consumer electronics products.
Hands-on experience in design, development and launch of high-volume consumer electronic products is a must.
Strong working knowledge in physics of failure and precipitating failure mechanisms through empirical stress.
Experience performing FEA modeling for structural and thermal stress.
