Responsibilities:
The zMainframe Manager must be innovative, energetic, and driven to provide a world class RAS mainframe environment.
The zMainframe Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the z/OS mainframe.
The zMainframe Manager will build and lead a dynamic and enthusiastic team focused on mainframe reliability, always on availability, resiliency, serviceability, and industry leading throughput.
The mainframe serves as the vault for our most critical customer and account information.
The mainframe facilitates real-time transactions and distributes account balances and transactions for presentation via our delivery channels.
24/7 uninterrupted system availability is paramount to our success as a leading financial institution.
Required Qualifications
Experience as the Manager of a zMainframe team in a 24x7 environment.
Experience as a Senior Systems Programmer with deep skills in z/OS, CICS, DB2, network, RACF, storage management, WebSphere, disk storage, and LPAR management.
Experience and expertise related to zMainframe disaster recovery and resiliency.
Experience with the creation of detailed documentation for daily operational functions, event management, and recoverability. Leader must have a passion for the criticality of documentation. Ensuring proper, extensive, and current documentation is a fundamental facet of this management position.
Experience with LPAR creation and management resulting in the elimination of single points of failure, continuous uninterrupted operations, simplified disaster recovery, and cost-effective software licensing costs.
Experience working in a dynamic environment.
Ten or more years of experience across all disciplines of the zMainframe environment.
Advanced knowledge of z/OS system hardware, operating system, security, disk storage, flex capacity, and automation.
Advanced knowledge of third-party products such as:
BMC IAM
BMC (Compuware) File-AID, Abend-AID, ISPW, Strobe, and Xpediter
IBM Connect Direct, Sterling File Gateway, DB2, & zSecure
MicroFocus ChangeMan ZMF
New Era Image Focus
Precisely Syncsort
Rocket Zeke & Zena
Software Diversified Services (SDS) CICS
Experience as a z/OS Architect is a plus.
Experience with budget and forecast management.
Bachelors Degree. Preference is in a technology discipline.
