Position Overview
The client is seeking a highly skilled Mobile Device Testing Engineer with hands-on experience in Android and iOS mobile platforms, wireless telecom systems, and automation testing. This position involves validating mobile devices and accessories across complex network environments and collaborating closely with OEMs and test partners to ensure quality, performance, and reliability.
This is not a standard Mobile Tester or Mobile Developer role — we are looking for a telecom-savvy engineer who thrives on working with emerging wireless technologies and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain detailed test plans, cases, and procedures for mobile devices and accessories.
Execute functional, regression, and random testing across Android and iOS platforms.
Perform software upgrades and validation using OEM-specific tools.
Manage test samples, configurations, firmware versions, and device inventory.
Validate test partner and OEM results through systematic test execution.
Certify maintenance releases (MRs) and security updates through detailed test coverage.
Collect test data, analyze logs, and prepare comprehensive engineering reports.
Maintain issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA) and ensure timely bug triage and closure.
Conduct field and lab testing to replicate and troubleshoot network or device issues.
Implement and evaluate new test tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve quality assurance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Telecommunications, or related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 7 years working with mobile device platforms (Android/iOS).
Minimum 7 years of experience in wireless telecom and network technologies.
At least 5 years in testing tools, frameworks, and automation.
Strong understanding of LTE, 5G RF, and core telecom technologies.
Hands-on experience with GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and Wi-Fi protocols.
Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and related project management tools.
Proven ability to plan, execute, and document functional and regression testing.
Exceptional analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across cross-functional teams.
Ability to work onsite and independently manage test activities with minimal supervision.
Preferred Attributes
Experience validating mobile firmware, MRs, and OTA updates.
Familiarity with AI-driven or automated mobile testing tools.
Passion for emerging mobile technologies and device innovation.
