Title: Lead Business Architect Duration: 1 Year + Location: Reston Virginia Job Description Mandate skills: BIZBOK and Orbus iServer This position requires a BA/BS in information systems management or related field OR equivalent experience, plus Business Architecture / Consulting experience. Certified Business Architect (CBA) and/or The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification preferred. Experience with business and systems analysis and design methodologies and tools, and experience with large and complex systems. Excellent analytical, planning, and communication skills. Experience with multi-system/platform program integration. Required Skills: Strong capability/process modelling skills, particularly in BIZBOK or BABOK. Strong ability to explain and demonstrate the value of business architecture. Excellent written and spoken language skills. Strong presentation skills. Demonstrated awareness of new systems technologies and how they could be leveraged to benefit the company, customers and providers, new business strategies and corporate initiatives. Must possess the qualities, skills, business acumen, experience, and discipline to ensure business and systems architecture alignment. Strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management. The ability to interface across several channels, acting as a visionary, to assist, proactively in developing project direction. Preferred Education and Experience: Masters in Computer Science or Business Administration or related field. Served as business architect in health insurance payer organization. Active participant in business architecture organizations. Daily Responsibilities and Desired Skills: Architecture Development, Assessment, and Utilization: Lead and consult on multiple business architecture engagements. Develop, refine, manage and review core architecture products, including: Value Streams, Capability Models, Information Concept Models and Ecosystem Models. Perform assessments of Value Streams and Business Capabilities; document, score and prioritize gaps and opportunities; assess health and maturity of associated enablers. Support review and quality control of business architecture products across multiple engagements. Utilize the Architecture Tool & Repository (Orbus iServer) for the development, analysis, publication, and communication of business architecture products. Consult with project, portfolio product teams on the utilization of business architecture products. Collaborate with other architects to ensure alignment with enterprise, data, solution, and security architectures. Architecture Repository Management: Support the administration of the client Architecture Tool & Repository to ensure that products are current, well-organized and accessible by stakeholders. Architecture Practice Development: Contribute to development of business architecture methodology guide. Support collection of qualitative and quantitative measures and preparation of architecture performance reports. Communicate issues and opportunities and make recommendations for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of business architecture services. Architecture Practice Operations: Provide timely and meaningful status on modelling tool, repository and associated tasks. Provide timely and accurate input to the business architecture work plan. Support administration, logistics, and communication activities for business architecture governance. Additional Skillsets (Desired): Experience with and effective use of architecture modelling tools like Orbus iServer. Experience with and effective use of knowledge sharing and collaboration tools, including SharePoint, MS Teams, and Skype
