Position:Mainframe Developer Location: Annapolis, MD(initailly will be remote due to corona virus.Once everything is normal you have to go oniste) Duration:Long Term Job Description: Analyze, document and conduct architectural design, development, testing and implementation of complex legacy State of Maryland Tax system (SMART) using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ transformation Solutions. Prepare detailed and intricate workflow charts using complex advanced mathematical queue theories and diagrams that describe input, output and logical operations using advanced Engineering methodology and processes and converting them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language. Develop batch tax applications using COBOL-VSAM and COBOL-DB2, and online tax applications using COBOL-CICS online programming for enhancements ranging from small to complex for the various enacted Tax reform Acts. Apply complex computer programming tools and design methodologies, security techniques and computer systems to plan, develop, code, test and document computer programs to develop both complex batch and online tax applications. Evaluate enterprise business needs and requests from stake holders in SMART system for new or modified programs for all the needed enhancements, and compatibility with current systems and computer capabilities. Use structured analysis and design to formulate architecture plans that outline all the steps required to develop programs in waterfall development models and proto-typing. Mainframe technologies and tools to develop and test using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, SQL, OS/390, TSO/ISPF, FILEAID, SPUFI, ENDEVOR, XPEDITER, INTERTEST, ABENDAID and Easytrieve. Extensively test both batch and online programs and software applications to ensure they produce desired results and is of high fidelity using complex defect free eco-system. Analyze, alter and review both batch and online programs in complex legacy tax administration system to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to new requirements in a complex tax administration system. Develop/code JCL, PROC, ACTNL and OPDOC for both the new jobs and for the existing jobs. Involving in daytime and nightly production support activities for the Mainframe jobs. Recreate the steps taken by users to locate the source of and correct problems. Compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program. Perform or direct revision, repair, or expansion of existing complicated programs in tax administration system to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
