Job Title: Lead Systems Programmer
Raleigh, NC Hybrid
Essential Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- (25 %) Change Coordination & Oversight: Plan, review, and lead execution of complex upgrades and configuration changes across supported platforms.
- (20 %) Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the SME for one or more subsystems and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
- (15 %) Mentoring & Team Enablement: Mentor junior and mid-level programmers, guiding them through tasks and incident response.
- (15 %) Incident Management & Recovery: Lead resolution of high priority incidents and provide post-mortem documentation as requested.
- (15%) Architecture Collaboration: Partner with infrastructure architects to align subsystem configurations with enterprise standards.
- (10%) Process Standardization: Define and maintain runbooks, configuration baselines, and audit-ready documentation.
Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 7 years of experience in one or more mainframe support areas (e.g., CICS, DB2, DASD, Network, 3rd party tools, z/OS, etc.).
Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- Associate degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Experience leading complex migrations, implementing automation, and engaging vendors.
Job Environment & Physical Requirements:
- This position typically operates in a professional office environment or hybrid/ remote setup.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (seated or standing) for extended periods of time while working on a computer.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via collaboration tools.
