Agile Product Owner Advisor
*Manager prefers candidates local to Bloomfield but will consider strong remote candidates*
The Agile Product Owner represents the "voice of the customer” at the team level, maintaining and prioritizing the Product Backlog, to ensure that the team is working on stories that maximize business value and deliver necessary fixes and functionality to all customers. The Product Owner must have strong business skills and experience, with either some past experience working with technology teams, or the ability and interest to learn how to work with technology teams. As a Business Product Owner, this position will be accountable driving Supplemental Health IT Product initiatives to help deliver strategic solutions and ensure product health and stability.
Serves as the customer proxy by understanding key business objectives and strategy of the Supplemental Health products
Creates User Stories and Acceptance Criteria, ensuring stories clearly communicate customer/Stakeholder needs to the development team. Supports Acceptance Test Driven Development spec by example and Accepts User Stories.
Participates in and prepares for Agile cadences such as Program Increment Planning, Team Demos, Retrospective, and Inspect and Adapt.
Skills Required :
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) in a work environment
Rally or JIRA a must
Confluence an asset
Knowledge of Supplemental Health products or claim processing
Technology background in Oracle, Java, PL/SQL, Azure Logic Apps an asset
Education :
Bachelor''s degree in related field or 5-8 years relevant experience in healthcare industry or Supplemental Health insurance preferred.
Background in a customer experience or servicing environment with expertise in a Supplemental Health and/or Healthcare industries preferred
Strong business skills and experience, with some technology experience or the ability and interest to learn. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly and openly communicate status, issues/risks, and challenges presented to project.
Excellent organization skills with ability to multi-task and drive multiple priorities at the same time.
Ability to gain support and alignment through collaboration and influence. Confidence to manage meetings and present solutions to partners and leaders.
Knowledge of Agile methodology with fluency in owning and driving a product backlog
