Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Security and Technology Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of security principles and technologies, coupled with a strong grasp of risk management concepts. This individual will play a critical role in decision-making processes, drawing upon their extensive experience in large enterprise environments to ensure the security and integrity of our systems and data.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in technology access control reviews and line of business projects.
- Identify security risks, analyze complex security issues, and lead remediation efforts.
- Develop and maintain security standards and policies.
- Provide security requirements and decisions to guide projects and initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including lines of business and technology groups.
- Collaborate with internal and external audit partners as needed.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional teams from a non-leadership position.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Three to five years or more of experience in technology-related auditing, consulting, programming, or operational banking.
- Subject matter expert-level expertise in both business and technical aspects of security and technology.
- Strong technical background in distributed/mainframe systems, databases, web-based applications, and/or Cloud technologies.
- High level of business acumen, preferably in a regulated or financial industry.
- Strong risk-based analysis and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work outside the comfort zone and adapt to changing environments.
- Proficiency in project management and multitasking.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to handle challenging clients and difficult situations diplomatically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to work after-hours, overnights, and weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation.
Essential Job Function:
Management of and Approach to Assignments:
- Provide corporate security consulting support to concurrent projects.
- Act as an owner for assigned work, maintaining thorough documentation.
- Escalate problems promptly.
- Document processes, procedures, and best practices.
Analysis of Work-related Topics and Issues:
- Anticipate and address security needs/issues.
- Provide security guidance and make reliable security decisions with minimal supervision.
- Interpret security policy and standards, consulting on variance requests.
- Translate information security terminology into understandable terms for diverse groups.
Establishing and Sustaining Collaborative Relationships:
- Partner and collaborate with business and technology groups to deliver security review, assessment, and consulting services.
- Interface with corporate technology and line of business areas.
- Build and sustain collaborative relationships with multiple constituencies.
