Position: Google Cloud Engineer 

Location: Madison, WI - Fully Remote
Phone and Skype
Duration: 06+ months
 
In this role, you will lead our highly skilled engineering team on a project that requires us to bring existing data into our GCP data lake for business use. We desire to use this project as a means to get our engineering team up to speed on GCP concepts for future work in this area. We are looking for someone with strong GCP experience to help lead our engineering team through the set up of our GCP environment and then bring new data from various sources into our GCP data lake. This candidate should have excellent communication skills as he/she will be working closely with our engineering team to bring them up to speed on the concepts required to successfully execute future GCP projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead our engineering team in the set up of security, networking, and infrastructure required to use the GCP platform to solve the data needs of our business partners.
  • Lead our engineering team in preparing for using the GCP platform by organizing data sections and structures, defining a code deployment processes, integration with GITlab, and defining standards and best practices.
  • Work with our business partners to understand their needs and translate these into meaningful work packages for a GCP technical solution.
  • Lead our engineering team in executing a GCP solution to meet our business partner’s needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in setting up and using GCP
  • Experience with GCP services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, Dataflow
  • Experience using the GCP CLI
  • Experience with using APIs
  • Experience with ETL Pipeline System design
  • GCP set up knowledge:
  • security,
  • networking,
  • infrastructure
  • organizing data sections
  • data structures
  • code deployment processes
  • GITlab integration
  • Define standards and best practices
  • Good SQL skills
  • Terraform
  • Gitlab
  • Python
  • Strong communication skills
  • Some knowledge of Google Sheets, Google Looker is a plus.
  • Some knowledge of Informatica Power Center is a plus.
