Reporting Solution Architect
Job Summary and Mission
As a reporting solution architect you will build and enhance financial reporting solutions that transform Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) reporting with a streamlined global approach, standardized data & BI tool(s) that deliver real-time insights, foster strategic decision making, and support the enterprise growth trajectory.
Reporting solution architect is accountable for collaborating with the FinTech team to establish the target state for finance reporting by designing a robust global governance structure, standardizing sets of reporting/data requirements and KPIs, and developing a sustainable long-term reporting architecture. This role reports into the Architecture function, working daily within the FinTech team. As a member of the broader architecture community you will also leverage established architectural design patterns and practices used within global IT operations.
Supporting North America time zones, this role will provide guidance for market teams both in the United States and globally.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Engage with Finance 'Business Leads' to understand reporting users, needs, process, complexity & prioritization
• Engage with Development teams to understand current FDP (Finance Data Platform) architecture and utilization of underlying technologies.
• Engage with peer data platform teams to understand analogous, similar solution patterns, processes and lessons/learned from these teams.
• Engage with EA/IA orgs to support definition of data products and platform scope.
Analyze / Review
• Support FPT (Financial Planning Transformation) program vision for financial data 'repository' & standardized reporting solution approach
• Review business needs/requirements including prior reporting track deliverables, current reporting as needed, and Data Product/Reporting requirements backlog
• Review different use cases for financial data & delivery approach
• Review current data platform (FDP) technical architecture
• Review of Finance Technology ecosystem - support development of FDP roadmap
• Review data platform (FDP) security approach
• Review current approaches to reporting within in Anaplan application
• Establish standards and process documentation
Deliverables
Product Recommendations / Guidance
• Finance Data Products - Taxonomy and catalog structure, data model
• Methodology / criteria to determine for user experience (from/within applications or from data platform) and 'right place' to calculate key metrics/KPIs
• Definition & establishment of data product governance processes
• Define go-forward process for Collibra adoption
• Definition of key and types of metrics/calculated fields
Deliverables – Technology Recommendations / Guidance
• Changes / revisions / enhancement to FDP Architecture to leverage best practice guidance
• Define data quality measures, methodology and technology
• Establish standards and process documentation

• Overall IT experience - 12 years
• Variety of technical environments, Functional Systems Modeling, Data Reporting & Visualization - 10 years
• Architecture experience - 5 years
• Functional and Systems modeling - 7 years
• Indirect People Development - 7 years
• Business process and System design - 10 years
• Strategic planning - 3 years
• Financial analysis & business planning - 5 years
• Running technology proof-of-concepts - 7 years
Preferred Qualifications
• Financial Reporting and Analytics for multi-national organization (preferably retail)
• Anaplan Financial Planning experience preferred
• Cloud data platforms / technologies - Azure / Databricks preferred
• Reporting tools experience - PowerBI, Tableau preferred
• Establishing framework / solution architectures Application development experience
• Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
