Job Description

The eCommerce Assistant Product Manager is responsible for assisting in developing the vision for a world-class GM eCommerce platform.  As the eCommerce Assistant Product Manager you will have the opportunity to define GM’s eCommerce strategy for bringing various products and services into the online retail space. You will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: defining and helping to design product features, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with product marketing and engineering teams. The successful candidate for this role will be passionate about customer experience, understand cross-channel eCommerce best practices, and bring innovative ideas to how customers shop and buy automotive products and services. 

  • Define eCommerce product strategy and lead a cross-functional team to deliver a finished product
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure necessary project support and prioritization, finding innovated solutions to balance business value and technical effort and reducing non-value-add effort.
  • Define the eCommerce feature roadmap, working across multiple products and services
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify, define, and design solutions to improve the eCommerce customer experience and onboard new products
  • Work cross-functionally with technology and business teams to ensure efficient and effective execution of the eCommerce strategy and roadmap
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform product and customer experience decisions
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence other organization without a direct reporting relationship.
  • Create test & learn environment for products in Innovation and CX to quickly understand market acceptance

Skills Required:  

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to lead teams in the attainment of aggressive performance goals
  • Product Manager experience
  • Ability to break down and communicate complicated problems into a more understandable story and action plan
  • Ability to identify process flaws and implement iterative SAFe/Agile process improvements in order to increase the output/flow of the ART.
  • Flexibility to adapt in an environment of changing focus and goals
  • Proven ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to write effective business communications
  • Ability to handle risk and innovate – original insights, test, fail, learn, improve
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and utilize an energized network across the organization
  • Ability to understand complex technology and eco-systems and how multiple platforms interact

Additional Job Description

Educational Requirements:

  • Four-Year Accredited College Degree
  • Advanced/Masters Degree in a marketing, marketing-related or technical field (preferred)

Location:

This is a remote position, the selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States or choose relocate near General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan #LI-Remote
