Data Analyst
Our client is seeking contractor services for a Data Analyst on a project that will help them lay the foundational components to improve Data Quality, Data Integrity, and utilization of Data as an Asset. This project is part of a broader strategic roadmap to modernize the Data foundations and Analytics capabilities by delivering on an upgrade program from SAP ECC to SAP S/4 Hana.
Responsibilities
Deliver against the identified pre-requisites necessary to ensure a successful upgrade to SAP S/4
Enable minimum viable data catalog infrastructure for the upgrade program.
Maximize amount of reusable work product from this initiative towards the full enterprise assessment.
The Data Analyst will be accountable for understanding the business goals and understanding of the business use cases, championing the stakeholders’ objectives and overseeing the activities of a system integrator to ensure proper adherence to IT governance and SDLC policy during planning, development, integration, testing, and implementation activities during the upgrade from SAP ECC to SAP S/4.
The Data Analyst represents work with the System Integrator and business partners and to ensure the timely and quality delivery of the data pre-requisites necessary for the successful upgrade program to SAP S/4.
Examples of in-scope SW Assets include SAP ECC (EAM/SCM/FI), Advantica Essentials, CIS, ArcGIS, and Payroll. 
Familiarity with SAP ECC and the upcoming SAP S/4 would be highly desirable, especially in a public utilities environment, as well as one or more of the systems listed above in scope.
Data profiling of key master and reference data objects – identifying gaps and quality issues across software assets in scope.
Discover, Catalog, Profile and assess key SAP ECC master data attributes to provide an actionable and prioritized data quality/ data cleansing remediation plan.
Discover, Catalog, Profile and assess prioritized key data objects for non-SAP software assets in scope. 
Assess and document security requirements from data privacy, confidentiality, and sensitivity aspects for the SAP ecosystem. 
Governance & Operating Model 
Understand and support data standards and processes to support master data migration • Prepare and/or update operating procedures and other documentation needed to support data migration activities
Assistance the project manager in overall project delivery by focusing on scoping, effort and resource estimating of technical tasks.
Establishment of quality targets and operational metrics for technical deliverables in accordance with SDLC policy
Problem-solving/decision-making as needed by the project

Use appropriate practices, in accordance with SDLC policies and quality expectations.
Follow policies, standards, procedures, templates, and processes (i.e., forms, access requests, deliverables, etc.)
Work with and coordinate with internal resources, technical consultants, SMEs, System Integration (SI) partners and specialists in support of technical planning, design, and implementation.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience with 3 to 5 years of technical experience in Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) and experience with data migration and transformation.
A successful candidate must be able to analyze and document each master data element and determine its need and importance end to end
Experience with data modeling, data warehouse design, and building data marts and data pipelines.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information-technology, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, System analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analysis.
Project experience with large scale ERP implementations.
Proficient in writing business requirements and functional design specs.
Experience with SQL, data cleansing and performing QA on data Experience with SAP master data structures and tables.
Knowledge of data gathering, cleansing, and transforming techniques.
Understanding of data warehousing and ETL techniques.
Good understanding of strategic technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving geospatial operating models.
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
Time management skills.
Skills
Ability to elicit requirements, pain points, and goals of the business community through interviews, facilitated sessions and written correspondence.
Basic knowledge and proficiency to write Data Definition Language or Data Manipulation Language SQL commands (nice to have, not required).
Experience working with business areas and other non-technical groups, translating requests into requirements.
Have the investigative mindset and/or techniques that can be used with any number of tools to explore the available data.
Ability to understand and translate the need of business units into effective data management solutions. 
Experience in data validation and ability to analyze large datasets.
Some hands-on experience with basic reporting / visualization tools is greatly desired.
Background in Gas Utilities industry preferred.
Understanding and knowledge of IT standards and controls, IT Service Management [ITSM, ITIL] methods.
Mature planning and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation.
