Control Plane Software Developer

Location Dallas/Austin, TX / Remote

Job Description:
The candidate will design, document, implement, test, and deliver compute solutions for the IBM cloud control plane as a member of the Client Success Team.
Responsibilities will include root cause investigation, resolution, and remediation of issues reported internally and externally by customers; enhancements to
diagnostic software and tools for quicker root cause determination, development to ensure reliability and stability of the compute virtualization software architecture
and components with a zero downtime goal. Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to the following: Client reported issues in the areas of VM lifecycle,
failure scenario detection and remediation, non-disruptive software upgrade, guest OS images, guest custom images, QoS, and the virtualization stack.
Required skills:
5+ years of relevant software development experience
Experience with large distributed systems
Experience with Golang, Kubernetes, micro-services architecture, and Docker containers
Experience with hypervisors/compute virtualization (e.g. KVM/libvirt/QEMU)
Experience with Agile software development
Strong debug skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, team oriented
Preferred, but not required, skills would include:
Familiarty with the Linux OS and sysfs/procfs
GitHub, JIRA , gRPC, RESTful APIs
